Villa Renovation in Accra, Ghana

This project was one of my first significant undertakings a full scale renovation of a family villa situated in the centre of Accra, Ghana. The villa, a long standing residence, required a complete transformation to meet the modern lifestyle and aesthetic preferences of the client.

The design goal was to harmonize a contemporary, Western-style interior with vibrant African elements, resulting in a unique blend of cultures. The challenge was to modernize the space while preserving the warmth and authenticity of local design. I incorporated sleek lines, minimalist finishes, and neutral tones as the foundation, then added bold African patterns, rich textures, and vibrant colours to bring the space to life.

The layout was reimagined to enhance flow and functionality, optimizing both private and communal spaces. Large windows were added to increase natural light, and the use of local materials helped retain a connection to the surrounding environment.

Throughout the process, I worked closely with the client to ensure their vision was fully realized. Every detail, from the custom furniture to the art and décor, was thoughtfully selected to reflect the client's taste and the villa's unique location in the heart of Africa. The final result was a harmonious blend of modern comfort and traditional African artistry, creating a home that is both elegant and welcoming."
